Every spring, Ewha Womans University Museum envisions an exhibition to reorganize and shed new light on its collection. This May, we hold a special exhibition titled “Yugi Culture” to celebrate the 138th anniversary of Ewha’s foundation and present the museum’s longstanding yugi metalware collection.
This exhibition will showcase everyday-use yugi metalware that demonstrates the advanced standard of Korea’s ancestral copper alloy technology, along with artworks created by copper artists and modern artisans who have inherited these traditional techniques. In addition, a program linking digital technologies such as generative AI and the metaverse to a yugi singing bowl, a popular item for relieving the stress of modern life, promises to make your visit all the more robust and enriching. We hope to have the pleasure of your company at this meaningful exhibition.
