The Lotus Sutra is a fundamental Buddhist text and, along with the Avatamska Sutra, had the biggest influence on the establishment of Buddhism in Korea. This particular sutra is the seventh book of the seven-book Lotus Sutrah, and is brush-written in silver on dark blue paper. It has significant academic value because the publication record at the end of this sutra specifies that it was made in the 19th year of Hongmu (the 12th year of the reign of King Woo of Goryeo, 1386) by Gagyeon with the donation from Lady Chun, the wife of Lord Juksan, through the arrangement of Gakbo.
