Description
Gisa is another name for Giroso, the hall of the Elder Statesman. Giroso was first established in 1394, the third year of the reign of King Taejo(1392~1398). Kings who reached 60 years of age and civil officers above the Second Court Rank who reached 70 years of age were admitted to the Hall. An Eo-cheop, the royal registration card carrying the owner's name, date of birth, and date of admittance, is submitted to and accepted by the Gisa. Gyecheop is an illustrated record that documents a particular gathering of the Gisa members. It was painted by Kim Jin-nyeo, Jang Tae-heung, Park Dong-jin, Jang Deuk-man, and Heo Sook.
