Description
This is the oldest among the existing ceramic epitaphs of the Joseon Dynasty. On the front is an absolute date of November 15, the 10th year of Seondeok, which allows it to serve as study materials for the early Joseon Dynasty and data for chronological research. It shows the transitional stage of buncheong ware and celadon. The same contents are inscribed on two tablets of different shapes; it is believed that one was for the mother’s tomb, and the other for the father’s.
