Details
Lee Joon is a senior artist who led the distinctive trend of “lyrical geometric abstraction” in Korean modern and contemporary abstract paintings. Lee’s work is composed of geometric lines and faces, but its outstanding lyrical colors still dominate the entire canvas. Spring-Garden, representative of Lee’s work in the 1960s, expresses abstract art from the Asian perspective with its thick surface texture. This trend disappeared after the 1970s, when he began focusing on abstract paintings in earnest.
