Details
This is one of Jo Seok-jin (1853~1920)’s large-scale paintings of flowers and birds, which depicts a heron, underneath lotus flowers in bloom. On the left side of the painting is written the poem “Longing for a Lotus Flower” by Bai yu chan (1194~?) from South Song Dynasty of China. Large lotus leaves with pale green color and flowers with a white and pink outline represents the beauty of lotus flowers.
