Details
The ten symbols, including pine tree, cloud, mountain (rock), water, sun, crane, turtle, deer, ganoderma lucidum and peach are each representative auspicious subjects wishing for eternal youth and longevity. Some subjects were often partially inscribed, and in late Joseon these ten symbol designs were inscribed through various techniques including the underglaze blue technique, the underglaze iron technique, and the embossed carving technique. The influence of Korean folk painting Jangsaengdo (Longevity Painting) is seen in their arrangement and expression.
