On behalf of the Human Resources Section, we are contacting you today regarding the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) position the International Criminal Court is currently recruiting for as part of the JPO Programme funded by the Republic of Korea.

This programme encourages junior professional officers, usually with an academic degree and limited professional experience, to acquire hands-on work experience under the close direction and supervision of Court officials and senior staff. The junior officers will be sponsored by the Korean government and recruited under a bilateral agreement between Korea and the Court.

Indeed, this agreement with the Republic of Korea is important to us as one of the ICC’s priorities is to ensure that all 123 States Parties to the Rome Statute are adequately represented. Unfortunately, however, the ICC has received very few applications from candidates for this position. Therefore, we are contacting you to inquire whether the Ewha Womans University could help raise the awareness of this programme amongst students and alumni at your university.

This opportunity to join the ICC is for an Associate Trial Lawyer (P?2) position whereby the JPO would work closely with one of the Deputy Prosecutors in a Unified Team within the Office of the Prosecutor.
