Wonsam was a ceremonial robe worn by women of royal and upper-class households in the Joseon dynasty. In the royal household, the colors of wonsam were differentiated depending on the wearer’s social rank. The green wonsam for princesses was allowed to be worn by commoners at their wedding ceremonies. Commoners’ wonsam was shorter in the length and narrower in sleeve width. It had a wider stripes on the sleeves and more stripes when compared to the court wonsam.
