Description
This hairpin was stuck into a chignon to beautify the back of the head. The pattern of a butterfly and a bird flying towards a plum blossom and a chrysanthemum is commonly used to decorate hairpins for chignons. 
The Plum blossom is traditionally a symbol of chastity, and the chrysanthemum is considered to be a flower of a hermit god and also a symbol of longevity in Taoism, and it is a symbol of the scholar in Confucianism. The butterfly and bird flying toward such flowers such a symbol of harmony between married couples and a prosperity for posterity. The enameled flower, butterfly, bee, and bird are very vibrant in this particular pin.
